Zoot Adventure Learning Camp
Zoot Adventure Camp is an action packed summer program for children from six to twelve years old. Join our camp counselors and discover a diverse range of themes. We offer 11 weekly sessions, each with a unique theme and field trip.
Zoot Adventure Camp supplements the daily routine of home and school during the summer months. We believe children thrive when they are able to engage in new physical and creative activities, make decisions for themselves and develop meaningful friendships. We look forward to spending the summer with your children.
Week 1 – June 15-19: Color Craze
Leave your nice clothes at home this week because it’s time to get messy and colorful, from bubble paint to chalk explosions. The finale for the week is the annual ZAC color run.
Week 2 – June 22-26: Mythical and Magical
Sprinkle your summer with magic as we embrace the enchanted and mythical legends, creatures, and realms of past and present. This camp is sure to please both monster and unicorn lovers alike.
June 25-26: Overnight Extension Campout – Thursday morning to Friday @ 6 pm
Week 3 – June 29-July 2: Bugging Out
Long afternoons spent grasshopper catching inspired this creepy, crawly camp. This week, campers will embrace their inner entomologist as they build insect habitats and find insects in the wild!
Week 4 – July 6-10: Life Size It or Shrink it?
Turn everything you know about size on its head as we experiment with life-sizing some things while shrinking others. This week will be jam packed with life-size board games, model building, large scale videogame simulations, and tasty mini-treat baking.
Week 5 – July 13-17: Where the Wild Things Are
Wonder! Discover! Explore! This week, outdoor adventures will abound as we go where the wild things are. From our very own garden to the fields, streams, and woods, campers will learn about the ecology surrounding them while learning wilderness survival skills along the way.
July 16-17: Overnight Extension Campout – Thursday morning to Friday @ 6 pm
Week 6 – July 20-24: Gone Fishin’
Get your worms and your rod, it’s time to go fishing. With trips to the ponds and rivers of the Gallatin Valley, campers will have the opportunity to go on the hunt for the big catch and can even try fly fishing!
Week 7 – July 27-31: Dive Right in!
Fight the midsummer heat with a week full of swimming, slip-and slides, water-balloon fights, and more! This week we’ll also host our annual car wash which raises money for a local organization of the campers’ choosing.
Week 8 – August 3-7: Treasure Hunting in the Treasure State
Do you have the sleuthing skills to track down the best geocaches in Montana? Campers will unite to make and solve the trickiest treasure hunts, crack open geodes, and venture to riverside and mountaintop to uncover geocaches.
August 6-7: Overnight Extension Campout – Thursday morning to Friday @ 6 pm
Week 9 – August 10-14: Show Stoppers
Time to show off your talents, because this week will be filled with creation and showbiz! Campers will create talk shows and perform plays, sing songs, write skits, and more. On Friday we’ll have our annual ZAC Talent Show where family is welcome to join and enjoy the campers’ amazing talents.
Week 10 – August 17-21: Woodworking Workshop
Our campers are skilled in many things, and we plan to add woodworking to that list! Kids will come home with a hand-carved creation and learn to safely use a variety of tools to hammer, saw, and drill their way to a handmade project.
Week 11 – August 24-28: Inventors’ Island
This week will be filled with creative construction and inspiring inventions. Campers will work together to design and build a large DIY project of their choice like a milk jug raft, a catapult, or a cardboard maze.
